TEACHER

It was a quiet and peaceful the full moon was shining brightly on the dark sky and the stars were shining like diamonds. The crickets were making such a unique sounds while some of the dried leaves were dancing in the air as the wind blew gently, I was in my room, doing my revision for my exam nest week. You would probably wonder why I am studying really hard right now. Well, it’s all because of my English teacher. I’m studying really hard was not just because I want to achieve my goals, but I also want to repay her debt .I want to be a successful person and find her. I want to see her again. I want to make her proud with my effort. My teacher had opened up my eyes to see my goals and future. She never gave up on me just like my parents did to me. You see, I came from a broken family. My parents always fought when I was young. Neither my mother nor my father, whenever they mad about something, they will release their anger at me. They will always beat me up like a punching bag. They said that I’m just bringing a bad luck in the family.

It all started five years ago when I was still in high school. I was going to take my O-level that year. I was really a trouble maker. That year, my mother and father got separate and I was staying with my mother. My mother only focuses in her work. She never had any time to chat with me nor spend sometimes with me. She even ignored me and beat me up sometimes. Since then, I had made up my mind; I will live on my own for now on. So I packed up my bags and left my house. Living with father was really hopeless. He was the same as my mother. I tried to convince my aunts and uncles so that I could live with them, but it was no use. They only insulted me and look down on me. I didn’t have any friend in school.  Who ever want to be friends with a troublemaker like me? In the end, I decided to rent a small house near the school and went for a part-time job as a waitress in a Chinese Restaurant. A month later, my grades went down and I always got into trouble with the teachers and the students. I was thinking of quitting school but I can’t do it. It’s too early to say die. But even so, the pain in my heart didn’t recover at all. My heart had been shattered into million pieces. I always I asked myself, “Why? Why is fate being cruel to me?” No matter how hard I tried, I still can’t find my answer. In the end, I gave up on finding the answer and went along with my boring life.

One day, while I was walking to the gate, suddenly, someone pulled my hand. I was dumbfounded and looked at that person curiously. My face became puzzled as a woman with a short beautiful blond hair and had a pair of beautiful blue round eyes held my hand while smiling at me. I could see her white pearly teeth when she smiled. I managed to act natural. ”What do you want?!” I asked rudely as I parried her hand really hard. “Hello there… You must be, Tsukishima Madoka.” She smiled cheerfully. “How did she know my name?” I whispered to myself. “My name is Arisugawa Sakura. Let’s be friend.” I was startled for a while. “Don’t even jock about it…” I said angrily and left her. She tried to catch up with me quickly. “I’m not joking! I really want to be your friend, Madoka.” She tried to convince me. I only ignored her and ran home quickly.

That night, I was in the Chinese restaurant, doing my part time job as a waitress. As I was serving one of the costumers, my boss, Mikuru called me. I looked at her curiously. “Go take order at table five” She ordered me. I nodded and obeyed her. As I reached the table, I saw Miss Sakura, looking at me while waving her hand. “I looked at her angrily. “What do you want? I told you that I’m not interested with your friendship.” I scolded her angrily. “Don’t get me wrong… I come here to eat.” She said while smiling. I only sighed heavily. “So what is it that you want to eat?” I asked. “Well let’s see…” She picked up the menu and ordered her food. I took her order and left the table. “Man! She’s really such a handful” I whispered to myself. I was really pissed off with her. I went to the kitchen and gave the order to one of the chef there. “Oh well… she only came here for dinner. Mine as well just act like I don’t know her.” I whispered to myself. I went out from the kitchen and continued my work.

After I finished my shift, I tidy up my stuff and went home. As I came out from the restaurant, I saw Miss Sakura leaning against the wall while waiting for me. “Ah! Madoka!” She called my name. I walked quickly and left her. “Hey! Wait up!” She called me and tried to catch up with me. “I told you that I’m not interested in your friendship and what so ever.” I scold her coldly. “But I really want to help you!” Miss Sakura convinced me. As we both kept quarrelling, suddenly I saw my mother with her new boyfriend. I was startled when I saw them. My mother looked at me while smirking. “Well… well… If it isn’t the little brat who ran away from home.” I only hung my head low. My legs were nailed down on the ground. “Who’s this, honey?” The man asked my mother. “She was my daughter…” I was dumbfounded when I heard what she just said. “Was?” I whispered to myself gloomily. My vision started to become blur as my eyes started to become watery. “But now… I don’t know who she is. May be she’s a hooker who’s trying to find some customers?” My mother said sadistically. “Well… you won’t mind if I spend a night with her, don’t you?” The man asked while grinning. “Sure… after all… she’s not my daughter.” I was petrified for a moment. I didn’t know what to do any more. I couldn’t even open my mouth to defend myself. I felt like my voice had sunk deep in my throat. As the man approached me, suddenly, Miss Sakura pulled me and stood in front me. I was dumbfounded. “Sorry… but I can’t let you do that to my daughter…” Miss Sakura scolded the man. “Your daughter? Bah! You called that girl your daughter? She just a burden. She will only bring bad luck in your life. I got divorce because of her! That girl should just die!” My mother snarled angrily. I felt like my heart was stabbed with a sharp knife. The pain and agony in my heart was too much. “Let’s left this too idiots alone, hubby. They gave headache just by looking at them.” My mother persuaded her boyfriend. They both left me and Miss Sakura. Finally, I could pull myself together. “Why…?” Tears started to ran down my cheeks. Miss Sakura looked at me gloomily. “Why is fate being cruel to me? Why me?” I asked angrily. I couldn’t control my emotions anymore. Miss Sakura approached me and wiped my tears with the back of her hand. I looked at her with my watery eyes. “Fate had bigger plans that for you in the future, my dear.” She explained to me with a soft and soothing voice. I was speechless for a moment. She hugged me and patted me gently. I was stunt for a moment. “You already bear with it quite a long time, Madoka. Just pour it all out. I’m here for you. Just cry…” Miss Sakura whispered to my ear. For some strange reason, I started to cry like a little girl again. I felt like I had found the “happiness” that I had been searching for. I had found the love that I had been longing for throughout the year. “Ah… so that’s what it’s feels like to have a mother.” I whispered to myself. Miss Sakura was respectfully quiet when I cried in her arms. I felt like all the burden had lifted off from my shoulders. I could feel a wave of relief in my heart.

Since then, Miss Sakura helped me a lot in my study. She never gave up on me even though she knew that I’m not going to listened to her. On one sunny afternoon, I was walking home with her. “Man! This heat is really killing me!” She complained angrily. “Teacher…” I called her. She stopped and looked at me curiously. “Why me?” I asked her. “What do you mean, Madoka?” She asked confusedly. “Why do you want to help me so much? You knew that I won’t listen to you or do anything that you asked me to… Why me?” I asked curiously. She looked at me while smiling gloomily. “You remind me of my late sister …” said Miss Sakura. I was dumbfounded and looked at her gloomily. “Your late sister?” I asked. Miss Sakura nodded her head. “Your face, your attitude… are almost the same as my sister. She was the only family I had after my parents died.” She explained. “What happened to your sister?” I asked. Miss Sakura hung her head low. “She died two years ago in a car accident…” She explained. I was startled when I heard that. “You know, if she still alive, she would probably the same age as you and you two would probably be a very good friends.” She confessed to me. “I’m sorry…” I apologized to her when I saw her whipping her watery eyes. She looked at me and put her arm around my neck while smiling. “That’s okay!” She convinced me. “Let’s get something to eat! It’s my treat” said Miss Sakura while winking and smiled cheerfully at me. I nodded my head and smiled. We went to a nearby restaurant and had our lunch together.

After my O-level, Miss Sakura decided to further her study in New Zealand. “Take care of yourself, Madoka.” She held my hands while smiling. I only looked away with my watery eyes. “Oh, come on… Don’t be like that…” Miss Sakura persuaded me. I looked at her gloomily. “Do you have to go?” I asked gloomily. She smiled and released my hands. “Let’s make a promise.” I look at her with puzzlement. “You must study hard and become a successful person one day. That way, when I meet you again, I’ll be proud of you and all your ‘debt’ will be repay. As a returned, I’ll come home every six month. How’s that?” She asked me. I nodded and smiled cheerfully. We made a pinkie swear and said our farewells. “You will come back, right?!” I shouted at her. She stopped and looked at me while smiling. “Don’t be silly! Of course I will!” She shouted back and left me. I only smiled as I watched her left me behind.

I combed away my memories with Miss Sakura as I heard my phone rang. I picked it up and I was shocked when I heard her voice. “Hey, little brat! Shouldn’t you pick me at the airport by now?” Miss Sakura. “Teacher?! When did you came back?!” I asked her with a shocked. “Didn’t you read your e-mail? I told you that I’ll come back home today.” She scolded me. “I’m sorry… I’ll pick you up right now.” I convinced her. I hung up the phone and went to the airport quickly. I really miss her very much. I can’t wait to see her again… my teacher…

A FAVOR

The bright yellow sun was shining brightly as the ray penetrated through the window in my office. I looked at the window and smiled calmly. As I was about to tidy up my things, I had come across a piece of picture in my drawer. It was a photo of me a woman and a man. One of them had a blonde shoulder length hair and a pair sparkling blue eyes while the man had a short black hair and a pair of green eyes. “It’s been five years, Rei…Kimi… who ever thought that things would turned up this way?” I whispered while smiling as I held the picture. I shook my head and kept the picture into my bag. I stood up and went to my car to fetch my wife. As I drove the car, the memories of me and my friends rush through my mind.

It was a bright and sunny afternoon. I was walking to the cafeteria. As I walked to the cafeteria, someone bumped in to me. I look at that person anxiously and saw a woman.  “Oh, dear! Are you okay?” I asked anxiously as I kneel down and tried to help the woman to stand up. The woman looked at me anxiously. “I…I…” she startled. I looked at the woman curiously. As I was about to held the woman’s shoulder, suddenly, I heard footsteps running towards me. As i turned around, I saw a man running towards me angrily. “Stay away from my sister, pervert!” the man shouted and gave me a punch on my cheek. I was threw a side near the wall. “Why did you do that for?!” I scolded him while moaning painfully. “Ah! Rei! It’s not his fault!” the woman scolded her brother. The woman sank on her knees and held my cheek. “I’m really sorry!” the woman apologized. ”Hang on… So you’re not going to do something bad to my sister?” the man asked curiously. I stood up and looked at the man angrily. “Of course not, idiot!” I exploded while knocking his head really hard. The man moaned painfully. The woman and the man invited me for lunch as to show they were very sorry.

“I’m sorry… it’s really my fault!” the woman apologized. “It’s really not a big deal” I convinced her with a heavy sweat. “My name is Kimiko Honda. This is my brother, Reichi Honda.” The woman introduced themselves. I looked at them curiously. “Are you two… sibling?” I asked with a shocked. “Yes!” Kimiko answered cheerfully I looked at Reichi curiously. Reichi looked at me angrily. He was probably still mad at me for knocking his head really hard. But hey! It’s his fault! I looked away as I can’t meet his gaze. “So, what’s your name?” Kimiko asked while smiling happily. “My name is Hiroyuki Takaya. I’m from the business department.” I introduced myself. “I’m from the education department and my brother is from the research department.” Kimiko explained as she curled a sweet smile. We chatted and ate our lunch together.

We had been friends for almost three years now. I started to like Kimiko but I didn’t have a gut to tell her because I know… that she only love her brother and there’s no room for me in her heart. Although, I’m really impressed with Reichi. He really was a protective brother. I didn’t think that Reichi would let me get near his sister. But I was wrong. That guy already knew how I felt towards his sister.

One night, I got a call from Reichi. He asked me to see him in a café near our university. I grabbed my keys and went to the café quickly. As I went into the café, I saw Reichi, sitting beside the window while daydreaming. I approached him and sat against him. He looked at me and smiled. “So what is it that so important that you want to talk about? Can’t you wait until tomorrow?” I asked while yawning. “It’s really important. It’s a matter of life and death.” Reichi said while smiling. I was dumbfounded and was startled. “What…What do you mean?” I asked. “I want to ask a favour. I really hope that you could help me. You’re the only one I trust.” He pleaded. I only looked at him curiously. Reichi drank his coffee and looked at me with into my eyes. I could see that his eyes were filled with sadness and pain. “Please take care of Kimiko for me.” Reichi pleaded. I was speechless and petrified for a moment. “Just now, I got a very bad stomach ache. I only thought it’s just a stomach pain, but after I went to the doctor…. He said that…” Reichi paused. He couldn’t continue. He only hung his head low. “… He said that I have cancer.” Reichi whispered. I was really shocked. I almost dropped my jaws on the floor. “You’re… joking… Right?” I startled. Reichi looked at me gloomily and shook his head. I was speechless and hung my head low. “I know… it’s a bit of a burden to you… but please… do it for our sake…” Reichi pleaded. “Did Kumiko know about this?” I asked gloomily. “No… I didn’t tell her yet. I don’t want her to freak out and worry about it…please Yu.” Reichi persuaded me. “But why me?” I asked curiously. “You like her, don’t you?” I was dumbfounded. I looked at Reichi and blushed. “How did he know?” I whispered to myself. Reichi smiled and drank his coffee. “I already know about it, Yu. That’s why I want you to take care of her when I’m gone…” said Reichi. “Is your cancer in the first stage?” I asked anxiously. Reichi shook his head. I looked out at the window gloomily. “I’ll give you some time to think about it.” said Reichi as he put some money on the table. He stood up and left the café. “What should I do? What can I do?” I asked myself. I was in daze and didn’t know what to do. I decided to call it a night. I paid up the bills and went straight home.

The next day, on a hot and sunny afternoon, I met the Honda’s in the cafeteria. “Hey, you two…” I called them as I sat against Reichi. “What’s wrong, Yu? Are you sick or something?” Kimiko asked me anxiously. I managed to curl a fake smiled as I looked at her. “I’m fine. I’m just a bit tired, that’s all” I explained. “Well that’s not good you know… You should always take a good care of your health.” Kumiko advice. I only nodded while smiling. “Hey, Kimi, why don’t you order some drinks for us. Kumiko nodded her head went to order some drinks. I looked at Reichi while smiling gloomily. “I’ll do it.” I whispered. Reichi was dumbfounded and looked at me curiously. “I’ll take care of Kimi for you…” I explained. Reichi smiled happily. His heart was overwhelmed with joy. “… But on one condition” Reichi looked at me curiously. “What is it?” He asked curiously. “You need to promise me that you will call me if you’re in pain again” I said firmly. “Deal!” said Reichi while smiling. We both shook hands and chat about Reichi’s plans. He gave me a brown envelope while smiling. I looked at him curiously. “Take it. Use it for Kimi’s study. I really want to see her happy.” Reichi confessed. I shook my head and took the brown envelope. “You can count on me…” I said cheerfully. “Thanks a lot, Yu.” Reichi thanked me. “Don’t mention it. After all… what are friends for?” I smiled while winking at him. As Kimiko approached us, I kept the brown enveloped into my bag quickly. The three of us had lunch together happily.

It’s been a month since Reichi told me about his problem. I was very worried about his health. As I was about to get into my house, suddenly, my phone rang I picked it up quickly and was shocked when I heard someone was crying. It was Kimiko. “Hey! What’s wrong, Kimi?!” I asked anxiously. “Yu… It’s Rei… He … He…” Kimiko was startled. “What’s wrong with him?!” I asked anxiously. “He’s gone… Rei is gone…” Kimiko explained. I was dumbfounded. My eyes started to become watery. I dropped my keys and my bag on the floor. “He collapsed when we were going home. He already pass away when we reached the hospital.” Kimiko explained. “Where are you Kimi?” I asked anxiously. “I’m still in the hospital.” Kimiko answered. “Wait there. I’ll come to you right now.” I picked up my keys and my bags. I closed the door quickly and took the cab to the hospital.

It was a gloomy night. The stars were scattered and twinkled like diamonds on the dark sky. The queen of the night didn’t show up as if she knew that something that was misfortune happened to us. After the funeral, I sent Kimiko home. She only hung her head low and didn’t speak a word. I started to felt guilty. I stopped and called her named. She stopped and looked at me curiously. “I’m sorry.” I apologize gloomily. Kimiko was dumbfounded. “What do you mean?” Kimiko asked curiously. I explained to her about Reichi and about Reichi’s favour. “Why… Why didn’t he tell me?” Kimiko asked. Pearls of tears started to roll down her cheeks. “He really loved you, Kimi. He didn’t want to see you sad nor cry.” I explained to her. “He lied to me… That idiot! He promised to me that he won’t leave me just like father and mother! I don’t have anyone in this world right now… Why is everyone that I loved left me?” Kimiko poured out her feelings. I approached her and held her shoulders. “That’s not true…” I persuaded her with a soft and soothing voice. She looked at me with her watery eyes. I held her face and wiped her tears while smiling calmly. I knew that I shouldn’t show my sadness in front of her.  “You still have me… I won’t leave you alone… I promised.” I released my gripped. “I know… That I’m not as good as Rei… but I promised him that I’ll take care of you when he’s gone. I’ll try my best to help you out, okay?” I asked while smiling. Kimiko started to break into tears. She nodded her head. She couldn’t control her emotions anymore. There’s agony and pain written all over her face. I hugged her, almost crushing her into my chest, trying to comfort her. She hugged me tightly and cried openly. “Don’t worry… Everything will be fine now…” I whispered to her ear, trying to convince her with a soft and soothing voice while stroking her hair gently. I let her cried in my arms in a wee hour. My black coat was socked with her tears. I persuaded her to go home while whipping her tears with my white handkerchief. She nodded and tried to hide her tears by wearing her smiling face. I held her hand tightly and sent her home.

The memories of Reichi and Kimiko started too faded away as I reached the school gate. The car’s door was opened and my wife got into the car. “Hubby!” She greeted me cheerfully and kissed my cheek. “How’s your day, Kimi” I asked curiously. My wife looked at me angrily. “I told you not to call my name.” Kimiko sulked. I laughed as I watched her childishness and pinched her cheek. “She never changed…” I whispered to myself. I tried to persuade her.  “How was your day, honey?” I asked. She looked at me and smiled happily. “It’s fine. Just a bit tired that’s all.” She explained. I drove the car and went home. Kimiko and I were married two month ago. I knew that this was what Reichi want for his sister. I will take a good care of her… that’s my promised to Reichi.

Rain Drops

RAIN DROPS

It was raining cats and dogs. The rain drops were falling on the roof just like bullets. I was in my room, sitting on a brown wooden chair while reading a love novel which had been dog eared. Suddenly, I accidentally dropped the novel on the floor as the thunder clapped really loud. I stood up and closed the long red curtains. As I picked up the novel, a piece of picture fell on the floor. I picked up the picture and I was dumbfounded. It was a picture of me with a handsome young man. “Oh, Sebastian… if only you didn’t involve in the accident on that faithful night.” I whispered to myself. My eyes started to become watery as the memories of me and Sebastian started to sting like a violent slap across my face.

I could still remember the day that I met Sebastian. It was a bright sunny day. The blue sky was filled with white fluffy clouds. I was in the university, trying to find the tutorial room. I tried to ask some of the girls, but they only ignored me. I was really pissed off with them. As I wandering around the building, suddenly, I bumped to something. I fell on the floor and moaned painfully. “Oh dear, are you okay miss?” The man asked. As I opened my eyes, I saw Sebastian, looking at me anxiously. I was speechless for a while. “I…I’m fine” I answered. He helped me to stand up and apologized. “Please to meet you. My name is Sebastian Micelles.” He introduced himself while smiling happily. “Please to meet you. My name is Callie Monroe.” We shook our hands. “Do you know where’s the tutorial room is?” I asked, hopping that he would help me. “Sure! I wanted to go there too. Shall we go there together?” He asked politely. “Okay!” I answered cheerfully. We both went to the tutorial room together while chatting together happily.

Sebastian was every inch a gentleman and he was more generous than anything else. He was polite, sympathetic, honest, and has a good word for everybody. He has an impressive personality and was very handsome. Throughout, he has been the best student in our class. He was not only intelligent but very industrious. Consequently, he was doubly blessed, possessing wit and the will to use it. He was very nice to me. He never felt embarrass to sit beside me in class. We always studied together. He never mad at me whenever I did something wrong like spilt a cup of hot coffee on his pants. You could say that he was everything that a girl would ever dream off. He always cares about me since I was far away from my hometown. I started to like him more than just a friend. I wanted to confess my felling towards him but I was really afraid if he would reject me just like he did to some of the girls in our campus. After all, a city guy like him and a country girl like me.

We had been friends for almost a year. On a White Day, which was on 14th March 1999, Sebastian confessed his love to me. It was a beautiful night at the park near our university. The stars were shinning like diamonds as it scattered on the dark sky. The full moon was shining vividly. The breeze was blowing gently, brushing my face. I was sitting with Sebastian on a brown wooden bench while enjoying the night. Suddenly, Sebastian stood up and looked at me with a lovely smile. I was speechless and shock when he confess his love to me. He kneels down on the ground and held my right hand while smiling at me. I started to blush madly. “So what will you say? Would you want to be my girl?” ask Sebastian nervously. My heart was overwhelmed with joy. “Yes! I do! A million times! I do!” I answered as I hugged him tightly.

I felt like I’m the luckiest girl on the planet whenever I’m with him. Two months later, our love was put into a test. Sebastian and I were in the classroom when suddenly, a new girl joined in the class. Sebastian was shock when he saw the girl. He almost dropped his jaw on the ground. “Clair…” Sebastian whispered. I looked at Sebastian curiously. I started to become suspicious with Sebastian. I tried to ask Sebastian about Clair but Sebastian only said that there was nothing between them at all. They were only friends.  “She was my ex-girlfriend, Callie. I don’t have any attention to be with her again.” Sebastian explained firmly to me. I believed him. After all, he was my boyfriend.

One day, I was feeling very bored and I wanted to buy some stationery. So, I called Sebastian to accompany me. “Hey, hubby! Let’s go to the mall!” I said cheerfully. “Oh, sorry, babe. I’m a bit busy right now. John might kill me if I don’t finish this assignment.” Sebastian apologizes. “Oh, that’s okay.” I said cheerfully. I hung up the phone and grabbed the keys on the table.

After I finished buying some stationery, I stopped by an ice-cream stall. “Hmm… I felt like eating a chocolate sundae!” I whispered to myself. I went to the stall and bought a delicious cold chocolate ice-cream. As I was wandering around the mall while enjoying my ice-cream, suddenly, I saw Sebastian and Clair, chatting and having fun together in a cafe. I was very shock and dropped my ice-cream on the floor. My heart started to burn with anger and hatred. I marched towards them. Sebastian and Clair looked at me with a shock as if they just saw a ghost. “So, this is your work that John asked you to do.” I scolded Sebastian angrily while hanging my head low. Sebastian stood up quickly and tried to calm me down. Clair only wore her worry look. “It’s not what you think, Callie! Clair and I were just…” Before Sebastian could finish his sentence, I gave him a pang. A painful slap stung Sebastian’s left cheek. Sebastian and Clair were dumbfounded. “You slapped me?” said Sebastian in disbelieve. I looked at him with watery eyes. “Gee… Thanks for the heartbreak!” I shouted. Pearls of tears started to roll down my cheeks. Clair tried to explain but I just ignored her. I left the café quickly and went home.

That night, as I was trying to relax and forget about the whole incident, I heard a knocked at the door. I went to the door and opened it quickly. “Oh… It’s you” I looked at Sebastian gloomily and went into the living room. “What do you want? Where’s your beloved, Clair?” I asked while smirking. Sebastian approached me. “Listen to me, Callie… There’s nothing between me and Clair. We were just chatting.” explained Sebastian anxiously. “Yeah, right…” Sebastian held my hand. “It’s the truth, Callie! Why should I lie to you?” I parried his hand. “You’ve just lied to me, remember?!” I scolded him angrily. “I didn’t lie to you!” Sebastian explained. He put his arms around my waist from my back and hugged me tightly. I only hung my head low. “It’s the truth, Callie. I did finish my work just like John asked me to do. When I was about to see John at the café, I saw Clair. She was going to meet John too. That’s why we’re both wait for him together.” Sebastian explained with a soft and soothing voice. I turned around and pushed Sebastian really hard. Sebastian moved backwards. “Liar!” I snarled at him while gazing at him angrily. He sighed and turned around. “If you don’t believe me, then read this.” Sebastian put a white envelope on a brown wooden table. “It’s a letter from Clair…” said Sebastian gloomily while looking at me. “I’ll see you later” said Sebastian as he left the house and closed the door. I looked at the white enveloped angrily. I took the envelope and read the content. I was shock when I read the letter. It seems that Clair was trying to get back with Sebastian but Sebastian refused. “I’m sorry, Clair. I really love Callie so much. It’s the first time in my life that I meet a wonderful girl like her. I don’t think I can bare the pain if I make her cry.” That’s what Sebastian told Clair. My hands started to tremble. I dropped the letter on the floor and ran out from home, trying to catch up with Sebastian.

I searched high and low, trying to find Sebastian. As I saw Sebastian crossed the road, I shouted his name. He stopped in the middle of the road and looked at me curiously. “I’m really sorry! I’ve should listen to you! Please don’t leave me!” Tears of regret started to roll down my cheeks. Sebastian looked at me anxiously. “I really love you! Truly … Love you…” I confess to him while smiling gloomily. Sebastian was about to run to me but, suddenly, a car knocked him down. Sebastian fell on the ground. “No!” I screamed loudly and ran towards him. I sank on my knees and held Sebastian’s hand. Blood ooze out from his mouth. His face was badly injured. “Sebastian! Don’t leave me alone! Please!” I pleaded. Sebastian only smiled while looking at me. It’s started to rain heavily. “I’m really… sorry… Callie” Sebastian apologizes. He was soon become unconscious. I shook his body vigorously, trying to wake Sebastian up. Fifteen minutes later, the ambulance came and took Sebastian to the hospital.

I combed my cloudy memories of Sebastian away as the door was opened. “Mummy! Mummy! Mummy!” called Flora, my five-year-old daughter, as she ran towards me while holding her doll. “Come quick! Come quick!” said Train, my six-year-old son, as he ran towards me. They both pulled my hands. “What’s wrong, my dear?” I asked curiously. “Daddy is back! Let’s eat together!” said Flora cheerfully. I giggled. “Okay, okay… Let’s go.” They both dragged me out from the room.

As we reached the kitchen, I saw Sebastian, preparing dinner for us. I looked at him while smiling happily. Sebastian looked at me curiously. “What’s the matter, honey?” I approached him and hugged him. “Hey, hubby. Do you love me?” I asked while smiling. “Of course I love you… What’s wrong?” Sebastian asked while looking at me gloomily. I giggled happily. “It’s really nothing.” I smiled happily while snuggling in his arms. I released him and set the table. “Play with us, daddy!” Train pleaded while shaking Sebastian’s right arm. Sebastian sighed. “Okay.” said Sebastian while smiling. I only looked at a big scar on his forehead while setting the table. The scar wouldn’t be there if only he didn’t get hit by the car on that faithful night. But even so, he stills the same Sebastian that I met in college. To me, looks is not that’s really matter. After all “Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder”.
